Photo-Sphere’s Profile

Photo-Sphere was launched in August 2010 by The Envision Foundation, an international non-profit organization that empowers young people to become involved in, and contribute to, their communities and the world through photography and digital media.

The Photo-Sphere Workshops help young people explore and document their own communities. Utilizing photography, the workshops provides students with the skills, equipment and opportunities to identify local issues and to become active members of their communities. Students have the opportunity to develop their individual vision and learn photographic storytelling techniques to better tell their own stories.

Through a dynamic interactive website students share their experiences with other young people from partnering schools around the world. Each class is paired with another class, in a different part of the world, who are undertaking the same curriculum at the same time.

Photo-Sphere is dedicated to building future leaders. The workshops encourage students to see their communities in new ways as well as promote their engagement as active global citizens.
