Jacmel Workshop

The Club Enfants et Jeunes Media de Jacmel (CEJMJ) was created in 2003 by Plan Haiti with the goal of teaching media skills to local youth and help them get their "message" across to the rest of the nation.  The Jacmel branch was one of three youth media clubs launched by Plan Haiti that year.  Debuting with 22 students, the project lasted five years, ending in 2008.  However, given the passion of the youth participants for the camera, the internet, and radio, the initiative was relaunched in 2010 following the earthquake.  Despite the lack of a physical meeting space, the club's current students meet twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thurdays.  Thus far this year, we have had worskshops  covering topics including radio, the internet, Powerpoint, group leadership, and photography.
